With more than ten years experience as a newspaper reporter and editor, Jill brings a wealth of valuable knowledge to Burges clients who are looking to expand or enhance media relations and improve efforts to communicate positively and proactively with the public in challenging circumstances. Jill’s media experience and relationships make her expertise a sought after asset for clients.
Jill has been involved in all aspects of campaigning, particularly in building grassroots networks, in Ohio. Jill is also an accomplished campaign manager with experience working with grassroots and grasstops efforts in complex issues. Her commitment to excellent customer service coupled with her attention to detail and her willingness to roll up her sleeves and “dig in” wherever clients need direction or assistance makes her a valuable asset to the Burges & Burges team.
EXPERIENCE
Before joining Burges & Burges Strategists, Jill worked for Computer Sciences Corporation as a staffing manager and as a newspaper reporter and editor in Central Ohio. Her community involvement includes serving on the Southwest Public Libraries Board of Trustees and volunteering with various other local school and community organizations. Most recently, Jill was the campaign manager for the nationally recognized, successful, Southwestern Schools levy.
EDUCATION
Jill graduated from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington with a bachelor’s degree in English with an emphasis in Professional and Creative Writing. |
