Valeri has been a senior consultant with Burges & Burges Strategists since 2000. Valeri uses her skills as a former journalist and lawyer to counsel and train people to become more compelling speakers. She works with clients to help them become as effective and persuasive as possible in a variety of settings including media interviews, formal presentations, meetings and appearances.

Valeri has prepared hundreds of seminars on topics including crisis communications, basic media training, persuasive speaking, customer service, and promoting a business. She also directs and produces message-driven videos for broadcast and professional use. Her client list is varied and includes high-level executives from both corporate and non-profit organizations, politicians, school districts, and public relations personnel.

EXPERIENCE

Valeri is currently an adjunct professor at Case Western Reserve University Law School and at Notre Dame College teaching a course in leadership and communication skills and serves on several boards and organizational committees. She practiced law at Squire, Sanders & Dempsey in Cleveland, Ohio specializing in labor and employment law. Prior to joining our team, Valeri was an anchor and reporter in the broadcast media for more than 18 years, working at FOX 8 in Cleveland, Ohio as well as in Los Angeles, Syracuse, New York, and Connecticut in both television and radio.

EDUCATION

Valeri is a graduate of Syracuse, University with a degree in broadcast journalism and holds a JD from Case Western Reserve University Law School.
